I saw this recipe on Taste Spotting and, being a veggie dog lover, made a vegetarian version!
adapted from In the Wabe
veggie hot dogs
hot dog buns
1. Preheat oven to 350F.
2. Spread hot dog buns generously with mayonnaise. Then spread mustard to taste.
3. Place hot dog buns in an oven pan with edges higher than the hot dog buns. Place hot dogs in the bun.
4. Top each hot dog with chili, then cheese, then onion.
5. Cover pan with tin foil.
6. Bake for 45 mins in the oven.
